O'Leary or Endy Chavez? - 05-13-2002, 06:42 PM

Endy has been playing every day. Anyone know whether he hit well in the minors?

Who gets more at-bats from here on out?

Endy apparently had a hot month (week?) in AAA and that's why the Expos wanted him up. but in general he has been overwhelmed by AAA pitching.

The question is, who is going to play CF? Chavez for now. If Chavez struggles, you might see Wilkerson in CF and O'Leary getting a lot of time in LF. Or they might just call Bergeron back up.

I was told by MANY bull-penners to stay away from o'Leary. To me Chavez looked like another Bergeron.

Im thinking if Calloway starts hitting he might be up first.

If Chavez continues to struggle, there is a pretty good chance the Expos will try Wilkerson in CF and platoon O'Leary and Cordero in left. When O'Leary has played so far, he's batted in good RBI spots. But based on his last couple of seasons, O'Leary might not hit well enough to keep the job.

Well, they tried Wilkerson in CF and O'Leary in LF. They didn't win, but Endy hasn't done anything to suggest he can be a solid hitter in the majors. At least O'Leary has some history of ML production.
