I tried to think of something clever to say, but I couldn't come up with anything. The answer is no. Seitzer was my favorite player as a kid. I was really bummed when Mark McGwire "stole" the Rookie of the Year award from him. Didn't people realize how valuable Seitzer's defense was at third? But I digress.

Nice, I was planning to ask that myself. I, too, was a huge Kevin Seitzer fan, and agree that he was robbed for ROY. I got to meet him once at an card show when he was signing autographs. I was pretty young and didn't realize you had to pay for EACH autograph, so I brought several items for him to sign. When I pointed out my error, rather than turning me away, he proceeded to sign all of the items. Not sure how many players would do this, although looking back I can't believe I paid anything, but I too digress.

I tried to think of an above average 3B from the same time period and then divided by two for Seitzer. The answer was Wallach.
All star apperances Wallach 5 vs. Seitzer 2. Homeruns per 162 Wallach 19 vs. Seitzer 8 Seitzer whoops Wallach in batting average though. .295 to .259 per 162. :waitsforKevinSeitzertogetallworkedup: |

Tim Wallach was a pretty good third baseman for about nine years, so yeah, I'll grant that he was better overall than Seitzer. I liked George Brett, too, but everybody liked George Brett. Seitzer was "my" favorite player.
