Al only. September 1st call-ups. -
08-17-2004, 08:39 PM
Al only 4X4. In our league, after September 1st, the only way you can pick up players is if one of your players is on the DL or goes on the DL. I have Youkilis, who went on the DL today, and I will be able to pick up a 1st baseman or 3rd baseman until the time that Youkilis comes back, which will be after the 1st.
It looks like Giambi will come back after September 1st and there is a possibility, if nobody lower than me picks him up, I can pick him up and release or reserve Youkilis. Giambi is then at $10 for the next year. Do you see anybody else coming up after the 1st that can help me that is in the situation that Giambi is in? Any rookies or players coming back after the 1st? Thanks for your help. |

I know this is a very to hard-to-follow thread. it is very fragmented, but I would really appreciate an answer, if you can follow the convoluted question. Thanks again for any input. I am really looking for any rookies that qualify at 1st and 3rd that you think might be called up that would help me this year and next that would be worth more than Youkilis. (Here I go again making it harder to understand)

Not really........
Jhonny Peralta for the Indians qualifies at 3B and I'd take him over Youkilis Pickering may come up but he'd only be good short term. Of course there is Dallas McPherson at 3b for Anaheim and Dan Johnson at 1B for the A's. That's about all I have for you. If Peralta is there, that would be the guy I would be after.
