Angel Berroa -
07-14-2003, 06:56 PM
KC SS Angel Berroa has entered the break with a .283 BA, 9 HRS, 20 2BS, and 37 RBI. He was a top prospect ( Tejada comparisons) before he got injured in 2002 and also wass discovered that he was actually 2 years older than originally thought to be. Any thoughts on this 25 year old's future production? Last week on Baseball Tonight, Peter Gammons was saying that Berroa is one to watch and could finish the year with close to 25 hrs.

I have Berroa and would dearly love him to finish with 25 hrs, but im not holding my breath. When he began the season it was thought he might struggle but he has held his own. He has exceeded expectations but 25 HRs is too tall a task.

My point was Berroa's talent was misjudged because he WAS a flip in, but no need to argue over it. |

Being a long-suffering Royals fan (as perhaps you can tell by my avatar), I'm as excited as anyone that Berroa is doing well. I don't know if the Royals have had a good shortstop since the days of U.L. Washington and Freddie Patek, with the possible exception of a few years from Kurt Stillwell.
