Jaret Wright or Kiko Calero - 05-01-2003, 10:52 PM

Who's a better bet in a 12 Team ML league?

Calero is still available and Herges seems like a better choice to close in SD.

i will say this tilll i am blue in the face. Jaret wright could not possibly suck anymore. He will kill you. Occasionally he will have stretches of brilliance. but then he will collapse and walk 8 in 3 games. However, calelro would only be a better option because i know that he ISNT wright and with kline having troubles he should get a chance at some saves.

I don't know. I have to say Wright at this point. Until I stop HEARING about Calero saving games and start SEEING Calero saving games. Regardless, both are just filler. Albeit that Calero would be on a team that actually wins games. Izzy should be back in a few weeks and I am hearing good things about Hoffmans progress.

Hmm.
I own Wright. And Calero. and Kline.

Best bet might be: keep an eye on Cards game tonight. If they're up 2 or 3 runs entering the 9th, and Calero enters, grab him even before he gets the save. If it's one run, hold off 'til he gets the second out without danger.
Or is your league not quite THAT trigger-happy to grab closers?

I kinda like Wright myself, at least over Herges. Izzy and Hoffman presumably take away the second-half saves, so this isn't life or death for your team.

If you get 5 saves out of either of them , its a miracle

Everyone has a plan, until they get hit in the mouth.
