At this point, unless they receive an upgrade via trade, I expect Chavez to start this year (either CF or LF, depending on where Robinson wants Wilkerson to play). I'm like you, Pitbull, in that I think he'll come in under the radar in alot of drafts. The caught stealings are a little concerning, but it appears that Robinson is letting him run - so the more opportunities he gets, the better his SB numbers should be. If he can get that OBP up and stay healthy, he'll be solid for 20 SB for under $5 at the tail end of auctions...

I agree. I think he'll slide below a lot of people's radar. It seems like there are several young guys just like him with similar names all on lousy teams. EChavez, TAlvarez, ASanchez, etc.
I bet he'll go for $5 or less in most drafts and be good for 18-25 SBs. That's a steal. www.worldsgreatestenglishclass.com |

he shows potential in limited pa's. curious to hear from anybody that's actually seen him play, because i'd love to see that 37% sb% explained away. is this an a.sanchez type (mad speed but runs to third after a hit because he's clueless on the paths)?

I believe Chavez got thrown out a lot in the minors too. Still I think Frank will let them run wild anyway. I would expect him to start in CF with Cordero and Wilkerson sharing 1B and LF, at least for the moment. Unless Bergeron wakes up, but he would likely not get full-time ABs, leaving many of the CF ABs for Chavez.
I'd say .280-3-50-85-25 So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again. The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older, Shorter of breath and one day closer to death. -"Time" "Freedom is seldom found by beating someone to the ground" - "Freedom" by Amos Lee "You will survive being bested" - "Southern Cross" |

I like Chavez as the big sleeper who falls through the cracks this year (well, if you don't read RotoJunkie...). He's this year's Dave Roberts.
