I don't know how much he'll be worth the rest of the way, but he hasn't completely lost his job yet. I'd love to see him be that .330 hitter the rest of '02 though. That would help.

Pierre is the type of hitter that needs to put the ball into play and use his speed to get on. His OBP has dropped significantly and you can see that due to striking out more and walking less. With hitters like Helton and Walker in the line-up the Rockies need a good lead-off hitter to get on. As of right now outside of Walker there will be a platoon of Cust, Pierre, Payton and Kapler for the rest of the season or until one of them shows they can play day in day out.

I've read the same thing about Pierre that Pitbull posted. The Rockies are out of the race, so they are going to give some other guys a shot. They have to find someone who will get on base in front of Helton and Walker.

I just traded for Pierre hoping he would get more PT and steals. Hopefully, he'll come around these last couple months and hit over .300 again and steal some bases because I need it bad.
