View Full Version : What is FOX trying to show with the "Diamond Cam"?

While watching the game last night, I realized that the special "diamond cam" shows nothing of redeeming value, either game related or entertainment value. I'd rather see more "Scooter" that Diamond Cam.

Am I missing something here??

Where was that player cam when Jenny Finch was up in the celebrity softball game???

I want the K Zone that ESPN has....the strikezones in this series have been a little off

If you die and come back as baseball diamond you will now know what you are in store for I guess.

I've seen a couple of shots I liked from that camera, but not many. The shots I liked were of bunts and shattered bats. If they use it maybe once per game, I'm okay with it. They're playing with the new toy way too much right now, though.

The umps have been awful calling balls and strikes for both sides this series. Fenway uses that Questec system (or however it's spelled) and I've love to see the results. I know that will never happen though.

I like the diamond cam, it's pretty cool. Fox does need a K zone, can't be that hard for them to get one of their own.

Agreed, 100%. Last night was no exception. They're not being consistant, IMO, in calling the high or low strike.

I like some of the shots from DiamondCam. It's cool to see that angle when a ball's hit directly over the camera. But it's silly when they use it to show a borderline pitch - as if anyone can tell that it's a ball or strike from that vantage point.

I don't mind Baseball experimenting with cameras so long as it doesn't interfere with the players or the game. I'd like to see a perspective from an infielder other than catcher - a pitcher, first base or second base would be cool. Also, putting a camera in the batter's helmet would be interesting to me cause I like to see how watch the ball coming in.

Worthless crap... right in line with what FOX offers regularly outside of the NFL. During the game after the rain, it looked like it was buried in heaps of crap.

Am I the only one irritated by the white, bank sim-ad/banner right behind the left-handed batters? It makes the pitcher and batter look fuzzy.

Scooter makes me laugh, not so much for the segment (which looks like a Saturday morning cartoon breaking out in the most inappropriate time), but when the broadcasters have to bring it back and try to tie in the Scooter segment with the game.

And on a side note, the Diamond Cam didn't annoy me as much tonight, maybe I was just in a bad mood the other night.

I have to watch a lot of the playoff games on MLB's international feed which means they're even worse.

I thought he said "more scooner" and just assumed he was on a drinking binge. And I'm fine with that. More scooners for all, I say.
