MVP - Berkman is having an absolutely monster of a season. My bet would be for him to have the best shot at winning the triple crown this year.
Cy Young - Sheets has been a bullpen savior. In the same outings as Volquez, he has nearly 10 extra innings pitched.
Rookie - Soto is losing ground and Fukudome is looking like a seasoned veteran. Bruce still needs another month or so to make in interesting.

Hard to top Berkman's .354/.438/.683 and 46 xbh even if his team is on the fast track to no where. Larry Jones still flirting with .400 the question is with all his ailments will he get ebough at bats to qualifiy for a batting title? In tonights perforence Dan Uggla will play the part of Chase Utley. I'm pretty sure Suzyn Waldman screemed out "Goodness gracious, this Volquez kid can pitch" after Saturdays win against the Highlanders. Sorry Fukodome but Jay Bruce gets my third place ROY vote this week.
- Geovany Soto's ability to notice something was wrong with Carlos Zambrano and his abilty to take charge of the situation likely saved the season for the Cubs' ace. While Soto is making waves with the bat, his catching skills are very underrated.

- The Cubs are winning more than 80% of the games Dempster starts. - Chalk, Bugs and Cranks

MVP:
1. 2B Dan Uggla, FLA: A new person atop the rankings, Uggla is a huge reason why the Marlins might be in this race to stay.
2. 1B Lance Berkman, HOU: Berkman’s carrying the load offensively for a team fighting to stay out of the cellar.
3. 3B Chipper Jones, ATL: The Braves are only four games out, thanks to Chipper.

Cy Young:
1. SP Edison Volquez, CIN: No-brainer.
2. SP Ryan Dempster, CHC: He's been huge in the rotation for the Cubs.
3. SP Tim Lincecum, SF: A recent shelling drops him down one spot, but he is still elite.

Rookie of the Year:
1. C Geovany Soto, CHC: Soto continues to lead all rookies in OPS and is a young catcher behind the best team in the majors.
2. 1B Joey Votto, CIN: Think the Reds miss Scott Hatteberg? Me neither.
3. SP Jair Jurrjens, ATL: He's helping keep the Braves afloat.

Uggla's OBP isn't overly impressive, but he's actually out Utleying Chase Utley. Still, Lance Berkman has been the man.

Danny Haren is dealing in Arizona, the wins aren't piling up, though. Lincecum and Volquez is practically a toss-up, but Lincecum gets the edge on a few less walks and more ground balls.

Soto and Fukudome are the rookie duo of the year. Soto gets the nod as the truer rookie. Votto gets bumped by Jurrjens this week, who could easily be replaced by John Lannen, who has been very impressive for the Nats.
